Visa cards now accepted at Angkor Wat

Visa signs Memorandum of Understanding with Angkor Enterprise to promote tourism to Angkor Wat and Cambodia
Visa, the global payments technology company, has announced that Visa cards will now be accepted at Angkor Wat, one of world’s most popular tourist destinations, to drive tourism and increase the shift from cash to electronic payments in Cambodia.
Angkor Wat is one of the largest religious monuments ever constructed and receives more than two million international visitors each year, according to the Ministry of Tourism Cambodia1.
“We are delighted to collaborate with Angkor Enterprise to launch Visa card acceptance at Angkor Wat ticket booths providing visitors with a faster, secure and more convenient payment experience,” said Sean Preston, Visa’s Country Manager for Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
“Angkor Wat is truly one of the wonders of the world and a must see destination for visitors to Cambodia. We look forward to working with the Cambodian Government and Angkor Enterprise to encourage more visitors to Cambodia, drive economic growth, and improve payments for locals and tourists alike.”

To further demonstrate its commitment to expanding electronic payments across the country, Visa has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Angkor Enterprise to promote tourism to Angkor Wat and Cambodia.
As part of the agreement, Visa will be offering a 3% discount on admission tickets to Angkor Wat purchased using Visa cards from October until the end of November 2017. Visa cardholders will also be able to enjoy discounts at 50 selected merchants in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap covering dining, shopping, spa & wellness and lodging.
“As part of our brand promise we want consumers to be able to use their Visa cards to take them everywhere they want to be. With today’s announcement, we are one step closer to fulfilling this vision for travellers to Cambodia,” added Mr Preston.
Today, visitors to Cambodia can use their Visa cards at more than 7,000 merchant locations and more than 1,000 ATMs across the country.
