EMV contactless transactions are more secure than traditional mag-stripe transactions. Visa’s EMV-contactless technology is called quick Visa SmartDebit Credit (qVSDC).
It’s secure. Contactless cards use the same security as chip cards by generating a transaction-specific, one-time-use code, thus protecting your payment information.
Contactless payments improve throughput for merchants and reduce the handling of cash. Faster transaction times mean shorter lines and a lesser likelihood of abandoned sales when using a contactless card reader.

Source: Value of Visa research was commissioned by Visa, and conducted by an independent research firm, Ipsos Loyalty, using an online survey among credit, debit or prepaid cardholders in June 2017, based on the average Extremely Likely and Very Likely respondents in the Grocery, Retail, Restaurants and Travel/Entertainment categories combined. Quick Visa Smart Debit Credit (qVSDC) is a more secure way to accept contactless payments than Magnetic Stripe Data (MSD) contactless.
